OUR FOUNDERS

Arthur and Patricia Cox, Founders

Arthur graduated from Georgia Tech with degrees in chemical engineering and metallurgy. He served 2 years in the United States Army followed by a 32-year career with Pratt & Whitney’s Florida Research and Development Center.

Upon retiring from Pratt & Whitney, he and his wife, Patricia, became keenly interested in philanthropy.  They started the Rocking Horse Foundation, directed toward improving the lives of children and their families. Today, the Foundation continues unchanged in purpose.

Patricia graduated from The Atlanta School of Business and married Arthur after his graduation.  Both have participated in numerous volunteer activities.

Patricia, an avid equestrian since childhood, focused on assistance in animal rescue and wildlife recovery.  Arthur spent time on national advisory boards related to materials and on communal councils related to land usage and materials impact on clean environment.

Arthur’s passion for the environment continues with his mentor role with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Clean Marina Program. Both enjoy fishing and gardening. Currently they have 2 rescue horses and 2 rescue cats.
